A passionate serving passionates : Léo Malloigne, toolmaker at La Forge Rayonnante.
It all began while admiring our ancestors' tools at the Museum of Working-Class Thought in Troyes.
There, I was able to admire forged, decorated tools—objects showcasing craftsmanship that has sometimes been lost, and possessing a truly unique aesthetic.
In a world where most commercially available tools are mass-produced in factories on the other side of the globe—often of inferior quality, prone to obsolescence, and lacking aesthetic appeal—I decided to return to the very essence of the blacksmith’s trade: the making of edge tools.
Crafting tools with a soul—that is the challenge I set for myself.
Before I began, I was unaware of the complexities of this craft. However, the ongoing dialogue I share with you—artisans and enthusiasts in the fields of wood, stone, and leather—has enabled me to develop the skills and passion that I now place at your service.
I offer French-made tools, designed in collaboration with you and forged in my workshop using mindful techniques that combine aesthetics, durability, efficiency, and precision. I am proud to present my catalog and shop, and I look forward to creating the tools that will accompany you throughout your life.
